Kestrels surprised all at the Senior National Tournament for 2010 held at Willowridge High School in Pretoria.

After having two narrow losses on the first day against KZN and Boland, they managed to get a spot in the Semi Finals by beating Northern Gauteng and Western Province on day two.

A brilliant performance by Calvin Jenzen and Ernest Nieuwoudt in the Semi against Boland assured a 5-2 win with Ernest scoring a beautiful diving try.

Louis Otto and Tiaan Nieuwoudt both got double tries in the nail biting final against KZN.
With the half time score standing at four each the match had really lived up to the huge hype it has created. For most of the second half everyone was on the edge of their seats until Riaan Raats scored a brilliant try breaking the brick wall defence of KZN. The final nail in the coffin was the try scored by Tiaan against the run of play resulting in a 7-5 win for Easterns.

Well done Kestrels for keeping the Easterns name high - you guys deserve the gold medal.
