What started off as a bright sunny day on Saturday the 1^st of October with the entire Easterns Junior squad full of energy ended as a wet muddy tournament on Monday the 3^rd of October, but this could not extinguish the flame of this bright team.

The Easterns u17 Girls team started off their campaign on a high note beating Western Cape. This was the perfect start to what was to become the perfect tournament for this enthusiastic team.

As the weather deteriorated, the game dynamics dramatically transformed; however the team prevailed and made the necessary adjustments to still be the dominate force they were before.

On the last day as the conditions were at its worst (mud, pouring rain, high winds) – the Girls took the field with passion and belief to win and delivered one of the best games of the tournament beating Northerns comprehensively 4-1 and finishing off the tournament unbeaten.

Well done Girls! You thoroughly deserve the Gold!
